The Count of Monte Cristo ()
HEAR WHAT THE CRITICS ARE SAID:
"There are swordfights, murders and romance, as well as occasional comments to the audience by some actors and a specter of Alexander Dumas lurking in the background (as if guiding the actors). ...It is a thoughtful presentation that manages to involve the audience in one of the best-known tales of intrigue and revenge." -Jose Ruiz, ReviewPlays.com
"Sight Unseen Theatre Group deserves highest marks for its ambitious goals, for the production’s many fine performances, and the elegant and creative design of the Dumas classic. I look forward to seeing what’s up next for this company, which reinvents itself with each new production." -Steven Stanely, LaStageScene.com
Freeman possesses the leading-man looks and charisma that make Dantes heroic. He maintains a cool demeanor, and his flair for swordplay adds energy... Ashmore's sympathetic portrayal of Faria is the evening's highlight. The prison scenes...run the gamut of genuine emotions. D'Amore gives Fernand an almost psychotic personality, making the character wonderfully awful." -Jeff Favre, Backstage West
